Structure, Style, & Strategy: Academic Writing Workshop for HGSE Students

This workshop is one of two complimentary workshops designed to equip incoming students for academic writing at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. In this workshop students will learn about the similarities and differences of several types of academic writing assignments, as well as the key elements of a well-structured argument and paper. Students will review the full writing cycle as well as some of the expectations teaching staff will have about their writing. The workshop includes hands-on activities and opportunity for questions.

Citing and Referencing in the Digital Age: Academic Writing Workshop for HGSE Students

This workshop is one of two complimentary workshops designed to equip incoming students for academic writing at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.  In this workshop students will learn about plagiarism and its consequences. Students will be introduced to a variety of tools, resources and strategies to help them identify and avoid plagiarism, including paraphrasing strategies, citation styles, and library resources. The workshop includes opportunity for hands-on practice as well as student questions.
