Q. What is a “road map” in an introduction?

Although not all academic papers have a road map, many do. Following the thesis, a road map is a narrative table of contents that summarizes the flow of the rest of the paper. These often outline how the author will make the argument, the bodies of literature the author will review, and/or key points from the study design and procedure.
