While much of the material in the ERIC database is available online, some is available only on microfiche. You can usually recognize a fiche-only document, because the ERIC record includes an ERIC accession number that begins with the letters ED (for example, ED457271), but the record has no "Full Text from ERIC" link associated with it.

Gutman's ERIC microfiche collection is held in off-site storage. To request an ERIC document on microfiche:

  • Make a note of the ERIC accession number (for example, ED457271) on the ERIC record
  • Go to the HOLLIS record for the ERIC microfiche collection: ERIC [documents on microfiche]
  • In the Access Options area of the record, click Scan & Deliver to request a scan of the fiche
  • Be sure to include the title of the ERIC document; be sure to put the ERIC accession number in the notes field
